• No more lap prizes.
  • No more out of bounds (OB). Play white stakes the same as red stakes. Play a lateral from the point of entry to the first cut and drop. Confirm with other twosome that lateral location is acceptable. (1 stroke penalty)

Rule Change Highlights:

  • Maintain some level of dignity, we want to come back.
  • Keep pace with the group ahead and be ready to swing.
  • Saturday is a 27-hole scramble. No minimum player shots. You can move the ball one club length, no closer to the hole, but you must remain in the same condition (fairway, sand trap, tall grass, whatever).
  • Sunday is an 18-hole best ball. Bump the ball up to 4”, ball must stay in the same condition. You do not have to finish if your partner is in the hole, up to you.
  • On Saturday, if by chance you lose your partner due to injury, inebriation, or having to step out for a meeting with the Sheriff, and it is determined by the Rules Committee to be legitimate, you can play both balls. When the low handicap (HC) is playing both balls, the combined HC adjusts down. When the high HC is playing both balls, the combined HC stays at the initial low/high combined number. On Sunday, you play your own ball with your own HC and cannot play two.
  • For Sunday’s net best ball, individual HC’s are rounded to the next whole number. We round up at or above .5 down if .4 or below. Example: 6.5 rounds up to 7 and 6.4 rounds down to 6. Applicable to Sunday only.
  • The top four teams (tournament leaders) going into Sunday’s round must tee off in the final two groups of the day. No tee time accommodations will be made for the tournament leaders on Sunday.
  • If two or more teams are tied after Sunday’s round, the tie is broken by working backward on the Sunday scorecard, looking at net score. Work back from hole 18 (17, 16, 15…) to determine what team held the most recent lowest score. Bill will need to figure this out if it happens.
  • Tee off from the blue tees both days. If over age 70, you have the option of teeing off from the white tees.
  • We will have tournament and regular scorecards in each cart. DO NOT keep any side games OR ANOTHER TEAM’S SCORE on the tournament card. Tournament cards must be legible to count.
  • Gimmie putts are OK if given by the other team in your foursome and the ball is inside the leather (length of grip, under 12”).
  • There is no OB. If your ball is unplayable or you hit it OB, play a lateral and drop in the first cut at the point of entry. One stroke penalty, but you do not “lose the distance”. That, and it is a time saver for the group. Confirm with other twosome that lateral location is acceptable. (1 stroke penalty)
  • No mulligans.
  • You can seek advice or ask opponents what they played if they are willing to share.
  • You can carry as many clubs as you want.
  • Holes in One – The player that makes buys one round of standard drinks for the group (Jack, Captain, Tito’s…). No top shelf.
  • Top 7 in the field pays (35%, 25%, 15%, 10%, 5%, 5%, 5%).
