- Primary Tasks:
- Teams are on their own to pair up for the Friday practice round.
- Build Saturday pairings - Try to pair teams that know each other, come as a group, etc. a lot of teams will have requests.
- Update pre-tournament handicaps.
- Track the entire field through GHIN, as favorites.
- About 85% of the field is established.
- Highest allowed handicap is 28.
- For those that are not established, BW can help with that.
- Update tournament rules if there are any changes.
- Verify that the spreadsheet formulas are working properly.
- Update the website with the tournament schedule, rules, etc.
- Finalize field, pairings, handicaps and update website.
- Communicate with pro-shop on scorecards, organizing the carts, KP’s, etc.
- About a week prior to the event, provide them with the final pairings and handicaps so they can create the scorecards.
- Also provide them with the updated course rules sheet.
- Saturday scorecards are just gross team score on a two-man scramble.
- Sunday scorecards need to show dots based on individual handicaps. If the individual handicap is a .5 or above, round up for number of dots.
- Bring bill counter, long HDMI cable, extension cord, power strip, etc.
During Calcutta:
- Input who sold for what.
- Track who bought who. Many teams are purchased by consortiums, try to get everyone from the group.
After Calcutta:
- Update website with who bought who.
Saturday morning:
- Make sure that all carts have a course rules sheet, tournament scorecard, and regular scorecard.
Saturday night:
- Collect scorecards and input scores after Saturday’s round.
- Set up Sunday pairings based on Saturday’s scoring. Again, try to pair groups so they make sense, people will make requests.
- Top 4 teams after Saturday go off last on Sunday.
- Update website with Sunday pairings and leaderboard.
Sunday morning:
- Make sure that all carts have a course rules sheet, tournament scorecard, and regular scorecards.
Post Sunday round:
- Collect scorecards and input scores after Sunday’s round.
- Announce money and tournament winners.
- Update website with final results.
Notes:
- You are going to need to get a Bushwood domain, which is inexpensive, and we can transfer the current website, which should be easy. You can get www.mybushwood.com or www.bushwood.info for around $200/year. You may be able to find it for less. That covers the domain, hosting, website tools, etc. Jesse West can help with that.
- Someone responsible needs to count and hold onto the money. Make sure to bring large envelopes for each place.
- We don’t do a very good job at tracking KP’s, may just want to drop that.
- When you input teams in the spreadsheet, the low player must be on top for the formula to kick out the correct team handicap.
- When two teams are tied in the spreadsheet, it fucks with the leaderboard, those team cells don’t populate correctly. Not to worry, we have never had two teams tied after Sunday and it is easy to figure out if it does happen.
